On Thursday, November, 10 shortly after 6:00 while in my room attempting to finish a school paper, I received the hardest phone call of my life. My best friend, through tears and broken words, informed me that our group of seven close knit friends had just been reduced to 6. My friend Kyson Holt had ended his own life. Up until this point I had never had never lost anyone close to me. I felt things that I had never felt before. I couldn't come to grasp the fact that he was gone. I felt that my final project should involve him in some way. Even though this project is tied to my friend, my personal thoughts and feelings about death, and my other good friends' memories, it can apply to all of us.

| Ironically on the day of Kyson's death before I received the worst phone call I have yet to received in my life, I found this wallpaper for my phone that I found a little humorous. This is exactly what I saw before the phone rang. We never know who might simply need to hear a friends voice to make it through the day. |
| The first emotion that I felt was despair. I couldn't believe that he was gone, that it was the end of my friend. Through this despair I also felt hope. Hope to look past the dead end, and to look beyond death. |
| The funeral for me helped me understand more about life after death. I realized that even though our loved ones who have passed aren't with us physically they will always be with us though the memories we cherish with them. |
| Kyson was the most helpful person I have ever known. He could also fix anything. He helped me get this piece-of-crap scooter running so that I could save money. The generosity he showed in helping me for hours on end at the drop of a hat means the world to me. I may never be able to make this run like he did, but I know he is with me when I try. |
| Eric was with Kyson almost every day for the two years before he passed. Out of all the things they enjoyed doing together, mountain biking was their favorite. Eric will always feel Kyson flying down the trail behind him. |
| Watching Cole and Kyson ride there motorcycles together was always exciting. They both loved riding and especially riding together. When Cole is racing through traffic he will always feel Kyson close behind. |
| Max returned home from Japan the day after Kyson passed. It had been two hole years since he had seen him. Max and Kyson used take many trips out to the well-known bottomless pit to show their "pyro" sides. Kyson will still be there with Max making sure that he doesn't blow himself up |
| Kaden was Kysons mentor. A spitting image of his older brother. He is now the man of the house, and his brother taught him well. He may not be there to catch the ball, but he will always be with Kaden to make sure he is on the ball. |
| Our loved ones do not only live on in our memories but they live. Kyson was buried next to his little sister who passed away the same day she was born. I have a strong feeling that he has met her for the first time and they are becoming best friends. |
| We will always remember and love you Kyson. |
